    Terrazzo flooring is a marriage of design and durability. Craftsmen create walls, floors, patios, and panels by embedding marble chips or other decorative aggregates into a concrete or epoxy-resin base.

    For traditional cement terrazzo, the process starts with a level concrete foundation, three to four inches deep. A one-inch sandy concrete layer is then placed on top. Before it sets, metal divider strips are partially embedded to mark joints or color transitions. The final layer is a blend of fine marble chips — sometimes enhanced with pigments — which is poured and smoothed before curing.

    Epoxy-based terrazzo allows for even more design flexibility, offering thinner applications, faster curing times, and a wider color palette.
