Terrazzo is made by embedding decorative aggregates — such as marble chips, mother of pearl, abalone shell, recycled glass, porcelain, or metal — into a cement or epoxy-resin binder. For traditional cement terrazzo, the process begins with a thick, stable concrete foundation. A sandy concrete layer is added, and before it sets, divider strips are embedded to separate colors, patterns, or control joints. The final marble chip mixture, sometimes tinted for custom effects, is applied and leveled.

Epoxy terrazzo offers expanded design possibilities, thinner applications, quicker curing times, and a virtually unlimited color palette — making it an excellent option for many modern spaces in North Hollywood.
